A brightly-colored ribbon eel (Rhinomuraena quaesita) in Alor, Indonesia. These eels are also commonly known as blue ribbon eels, but I've always taken exception to the name. Females are often entirely yellow, and juveniles are black. These ribbon eels are protandrous hermaphrodites, and males develop female sex organs and become female when they reach a certain size.
